At MCC students that are motivated to put their time and energy into leading on campus and in their community have multiple opportunities highlighted below. To explore more ways to get involved go to myhub.mccneb.edu.
Student leadership now has a site in myhub
What is myHub? myHub is MCC's online engagement tool for students to connect, join and participate with various opportunities such as MCC's annual Student Leadership Conference in the fall. Learn more about the conference in myHub.
Lead as an officer in an Org/Club at MCC
student organizations and clubs in myHub, join and consider leading as a student officer while attending MCC.
Community Engagement activities
MCC's Community Engagement office supports student community engagement learning opportunities. Community partners are welcome to submit community engagement proposals. Proposals will be judged on alignment with MCC’s mission, student impact, learning outcomes, project scope, organizational commitment and the overall quality of the application. Applications that meet MCC Community Based Education requirements will be forwarded to academic deans for review. Implementation is contingent on gaining a faculty champion who is able to incorporate the project into their course curriculum within the project timeline. Community Engagement staff will notify you of your project’s status and next steps after your project has been reviewed.
MCC's Student Ambassador program provides an avenue for students to represent MCC at a variety of functions such as, but not limited to: tours, MCC and community events. All students are welcome to apply.
Student Advisory Council
MCC's Student Advisory Council was established to enhance communication between students and the College. Members are elected in the fall to represent each MCC location. SAC also elects a student ex-officio to attend MCC Board of Governors meetings.
Student leadership club
The Student Leadership Club is a place for student leaders to connect with each other and share information across campuses, departments, and interests. Come hang out with us the first Monday of every month to touch base with your fellow student leaders about various events, opportunities for collaboration between organizations and clubs, and develop leadership skills with peers!
Meetings rotate to each campus so be sure to check myHub for info on the whereabouts of each meeting.
