Learning and Tutoring Centers

Learning Center staff helping a student on the computer

The mission of the Learning and Tutoring Centers is to provide assistance with building academic skills, conducting research, and utilizing resources in order to foster learning and empower individuals in the college community to achieve their goals.

Learning and Tutoring Centers (LTCs) provide free tutoring, software resources, and services to support the learning needs of students across all areas of the College's curriculum. Each center has state-of-the-art equipment. Numerous software applications exist to support specific curriculum needs.

The LTC staff provides drop-in assistance with basic math, reading, writing and computer skills. We offer a friendly, supportive learning environment at five locations, with day, evening, and weekend hours available. Drop-in tutoring is provided during regularly scheduled hours for challenging courses such as chemistry, accounting, and foreign languages. Self-paced computer-assisted instructional support in reading, vocabulary, typing, and English as a Second Language is also available.

Anyone enrolled in a credit, noncredit, continuing education, AE, ESL, or GED course at MCC may use our facilities. We also help prospective students prepare for assessments.

Free Drop-In Tutoring

MCC students are encouraged to take advantage of free drop-in tutoring offered during regularly scheduled hours in the Learning and Tutoring Centers. No appointments are necessary.

Tutoring is available for many of the most challenging credit classes, including chemistry, accounting, and many other subjects.
