Academic Date Definitions

*Census Date: This date is used to determine enrollment figures and student eligibility for financial aid disbursements. Instructors officially report student class attendance/participation on or before the census date to the Records and Financial Aid Offices.

**Drop/Withdrawals: View last day to drop/add by selecting your term and entering your class section. Last date to drop means dropping a class with no charge. Last date to withdraw means withdrawing from a class with no grade. These dates are automatically calculated based on the start and end dates of the class and/or the number of class meetings.

Refund Policy for credit courses: A student is responsible for dropping their courses if unable to attend. Non-attendance or nonpayment does not relieve the student from the obligation to pay for the class. An official schedule change that reduces or terminates a student's credit load may entitle the student to a refund. The last date to drop a class with no charge is listed above in the Important Dates link. A students must drop by 11:59 p.m. on the listed date (census date). After this date, the student is charged 100% for the dropped class. Note: Schedule changes may have implications for students on Financial Aid. Prior to any schedule changes, check with the Financial Aid office at 531-MCC-2330 or 1-800-228-9553.
