Metropolitan Community College is proud to partner with Food Bank for the Heartland to provide a supplemental food source for MCC students. Through this partnership, pre-packaged boxes of non-perishable food items are available at no-cost to students. You can learn more about about the food program here. Heartland Food Bank
Heartland Food Bank is a non-profit organization that distributes food to 600 food pantries, schools and emergency shelters across Nebraska and Iowa. To see their food locations and monthly calendar, visit the Heartland Food Bank website.
SNAP
SNAP is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as the food stamp program. This program helps eligible students across Nebraska and Iowa who may meet the requirements apply for this valuable nutrition assistance. SNAP gross income guidelines do not apply to anyone that is a senior. It is possible you may qualify regardless of your income level if you are currently enrolled as a student. Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children. WIC provides support services to pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants and children up to age five. Applicants must meet income guidelines, live in the State of Nebraska and be individually determined to gross income requirements. Individuals who receive Aid to Dependent Children, Food Stamps and/or Medicaid are automatically eligible to receive WIC. Together Inc.
Together is a homeless prevention organization, working to keep households in their homes, provide navigation services in rapid rehouse, financial, educational or employment assistance.
