Jane Keller was born in Omaha and graduated from Mercy High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from College of Saint Mary in Omaha and a master's degree from University of Nebraska at Omaha. She became a high school teacher and eventually found her way to teaching at MCC, where she taught for more than 30 years until she died in 2016. Her teaching passion was developmental math, assisting first-generation college students become engaged in and develop an understanding of math concepts.
Her devotion to teaching and to MCC was a lifelong passion. Her request to her family for her final Christmas wish was a commemorative brick in the Employee Legacy Court under construction on the Fort Omaha Campus at MCC. It reads "Jane Keller, MCC Math Department, touched lives."
