Designer’s Touch Scholarship

The Designer’s Touch Scholarship was established by alumna Marian Holden, ASID, in 2018. Marian received an associate’s degree in Applied Science in Interior Design with honors from Metropolitan Community College and served on the board of the local American Society of Interior Designer’s student chapter. She started her interior design business, Designer's Touch, out of her home while still a student at MCC. Since then, she has expanded her successful business into a storefront location and along the way has provided internships as well as permanent employment for several young, aspiring designers, including MCC students.

Holden continues to return to MCC as a classroom speaker on a variety of design-related topics, is a member of MCC's Interior Design Advisory Committee, member of the MCC Foundation Board of Directors and recipient of the MCCF Distinguished Alumna award in 2016.

Her design studio has been the recipient of numerous awards including "Readers Choice Best Interior Store" and has received numerous project awards from the American Society of Designer's Nebraska/Iowa Chapter. The Designer’s Touch Scholarship is open to all full or part-time MCC students majoring in Interior Design with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. This renewable scholarship is intended to pay for tuition, fees, books and interior design supplies for students who maintain their grades during the scholarship.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Majoring in the Interior Design program
  • Open to part-time or full-time students

Scholarships are usually offered during the spring and fall quarters. Scholarship availability varies depending on donor giving.
