MCC Foundation Board of Directors
is the Executive Director of University Communication at University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her areas of strength include leadership, budgeting, strategic planning, marketing and management. She has remained consistent in giving back through volunteering, board work and remaining grounded in making our community healthier.
Makayla has served on the Women’s Fund of Omaha, Cox Communication, Girls Inc Girlfriends Board, Black Student Alliance and was chair of fundraising for Alpha Kappa Sorority Inc. She was recently awarded a national honor within the Hearst Corporation as an Eagle award winner, highlighting excellence in performance.
Makayla's interest in serving on the MCCF board is her love for education as a citizen and a parent. She understands how a college degree affects civic pride, property values and the sense of unity. She believes MCC is a strong pillar of our community, providing individuals the opportunity to compete in an aggressive market. Makayla would like to offer the MCC Foundation her enthusiasm, organizational skills and professional expertise in order to support MCC’s effort toward excellence.
Her primary focus is scholarship and student support, making sure scholarships are served in the highest regard and valued by deserving students.
Makayla has two intelligent kids that are destined for greatness Kenny (9) and Makenli' (5), and a wonderful husband who is also grounded in serving the community, Kenny McMorris, CEO of Charles Drew.
