Jennifer Zhang

Jennifer Zhang is president and founder of JZW International Development, LLC. Zhang attended Fudan University in Shanghai, China, where she received a bachelor’s degree in International Business. She moved to the United States in 2000 and became a naturalized citizen in 2009 and found JZW in 2005. Her areas of expertise include 20-plus years in international business, business networking, business consulting, sales and marketing, helping and recruiting businesses invest in Nebraska and recruiting international students located in Nebraska schools. Zhang's multilingual skills, multi-cultural background and network with Chinese businesses and government officials prove invaluable to Nebraska Businesses and Nebraska government.

Since 2006, she serves as the Nebraska State Representative to China and manages the Nebraska China Office in Shanghai. She works with the State of Nebraska Department of Economic Development and the Governor’s office to facilitate business, agricultural and educational relationships between Nebraska and China. Zhang is currently on the board of MITA, an organization that encourages the expansion of trade between the Midwest and foreign markets. In addition, she serves as vice president on the Nebraska Chinese Associations Board of Directors, where she helps with fundraising for educational and cultural activities, as well as a variety of business needs.

In May 2017, Gov. Pete Ricketts, on behalf of MITA, presented Zhang with the Importer of the Year award. In 2008, she also received the Admiral Award from the State of Nebraska and won small business of the month, in 2013, from the Greater Omaha Chamber.

She enjoys traveling all over the world, exploring cultures, education, languages and businesses. She is passionate about education, learning and cultural diversity. Zhang loves playing golf and participating in business networking.

Zhang is interested in serving on the MCC Foundation Board because she is passionate about education and believes everyone is entitled to quality education. Her main goal is to help serve the community by being engaged in education, scholarship programs, and student welfare. She encourages private companies to set up grant funds to assist with educational needs.
