Server Administration

What is server administration?

A server or systems administrator manages computer networks and ensures that they run efficiently in an office environment by tracking server activity, maintaining computer software and hardware, addressing questions about technical problems and improving efficiency by evaluating network functions.

Students in the program will manage servers/workstations and the active directory in a virtualized environment. The classes can be completed entirely online or as a combination of online and on-campus courses. Hands-on practical activities are emphasized in the classes.

Program Descriptions

Associate in applied science Degree

  • Server Administration (ITSAO) - This degree prepares students to successfully implement, configure, and maintain a Windows server in the Active Directory environment of large companies. Students gain a strong technical foundation in monitoring and managing a network infrastructure.

Certificate of achievement

  • Server Technician (ITSRO) - This certificate of achievement option teaches the foundation skills necessary to support servers.
