Student Prepared Lunch & Dinner

The Sage Student Bistro operates as a customer-focused classroom providing our students an opportunity to refine their culinary, bakery, service and supervisory skills in a setting where the element of time is as important as the food and service. Because this is a class, the Bistro is open when the students are in session. A standard menu is offered, as well as weekly, student designed prix fixe specials during dinner. The Sage Student Bistro serves wine and beer. We maintain a concise but thoughtful beverage list featuring red and white wines, as well as an assortment of local and imported beers. If you have a special bottle you would like to enjoy in our restaurant, corking service is available for just $10 per 750 ml bottle.  

Parking

During lunch service, guests may park in college lots as available. 

Due to increased parking demands on the Fort Omaha campus, complimentary valet service is now available to all of our Sage Student Bistro evening guests.  We ask that all evening patrons use the complimentary service as both a convenience for you and to assist us with campus parking demands. The vehicle drop-off point will be located in the southeast corner of the north ICA parking lot.  See the map below:

This quarter, we are offering a special format for student written tasting menus during dinner service.  From April 9 through 26, The Sage Student Bistro will offer two student-created courses each evening in addition to the static menu.  Theses dates remain open for reservations on Open Table.   
 

Starting April 30 and continuing thru May 17, the Sage Student Bistro will solely offer a 14 course prix fixe menu featuring items created by both culinary and baking & pastry students for $30. This menu will replace the static menu, and reservations must be made by contacting Oystein Solberg.  Each of the three weeks, a different student-written menu will be offered. Please plan on 2 1/2 to 3 hours for dinner.

No static menu will be offered for this special engagement; only the tasting menu will be available.  Reservations are not available online.  You must email Oystein Solberg to reserve a table for this special prix fixe.  We will need to know NAME, # OF GUESTS,  PHONE NUMBER, EMAIL, PREFERRED DATE (S), PREFERRED TIME (6:00-6:45), and any special dietary needs. We will do our best to accommodate dietary

Seating times are available from 6:00-6:45 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Sorry, no walk-ins.  Reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.  We will be in touch to confirm your reservation personally.  

Hours of Operation (during operating dates)

Lunch:  Monday – Thursday:  11 a.m.–1 p.m. (last seating at 1 p.m.)
Dinner:  Monday – Thursday:  6–8 p.m. (last seating at 8 p.m.)

Reservations

Reservations are highly-recommended for dinner, Monday through Thursday, with available seating times from 6-8 p.m. Call us at 531-MCC-2328 to make reservations, or click here to make reservations through OpenTable.com. We also request that you contact Peter Walsh at 531-MCC-2575 to make lunch reservations for parties of six or more. Lunch reservations are not required or accepted for parties smaller than six.

Location

Sage Student Bistro is located at the Pegler Center for the Institute for the Culinary Arts at 32nd Street and Sorensen Parkway, on the south end of the Metropolitan Community College Fort Omaha Campus.
