Grant awarded to MCC to help fund repairs for donated car

OMAHA, Neb. — The Metropolitan Community College Foundation is the recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation. The award will help fund the overhaul of a 2010 Dodge Avenger, which will be given to a deserving MCC student after undergoing repairs by MCC Auto Collision Technology students. The grant was requested on behalf of MCC by CARSTAR Auto Body Repair.

The salvage car was donated by Farmers Insurance to be used in the Recycled Rides 4 Schools program. The car will be presented to a student during the MCC Auto Collision Technology open house in October. MCC will conduct an internal application process to select a deserving student. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding the car presentation.

Recycled Rides 4 Schools is a community initiative by the National Auto Body Council.
