Media alert: BringITOn Challenge finals are tomorrow at Do Space

What: Metropolitan Community College and Interface Web School will host the final stage of the BringITOn Challenge, a technology competition in which students submit solutions to problems presented by partnering area businesses.
When: Wednesday, April 27
Student presentations begin at 6 p.m. with results scheduled to be announced at 7:30 p.m.
Where: MCC at Do Space, 2nd floor, 72nd and Dodge streets
Background: Developed by the MCC Information Technology and eLearning Department and Interface Web School, the BringITOn Challenge’s goal is to introduce young students to various IT career pathways by providing them real-world experiences. The program officially launched in September 2015 and now students are presenting their final product tomorrow. Competitors met weekly with mentors to help develop their concepts. Mentors were made up of volunteers from area high schools, MCC and the Interface Web School.


Metropolitan Community College, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, is a comprehensive, public community college that offers affordable, quality education to all residents of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties. Founded in 1974, MCC has the largest enrollment out of six community colleges in Nebraska and is the second largest postsecondary institution in the state. MCC serves more than 40,000 unique credit and noncredit students.
