Media alert: International Fair, USCIS Naturalization Ceremony at MCC tomorrow

What: Metropolitan Community College hosts its International Fair, an event that brings entertainment, fashion and food from around the world to the College.
When: Thursday, April 14, 10 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
USCIS Naturalization Ceremony:
Room 120 of the Industrial Training Center at MCC’s South Omaha Campus, 27th and Q streets.
International Fair:
In the Commons area of the Connector Building at MCC’s South Omaha Campus, 27th and Q streets.
Background: The event is free and open to the public. The day begins at 10 a.m. with a musical salute by Kathy Tyree. At 10:30 a.m., a USCIS Naturalization Ceremony welcomes new US citizens in the Industrial Training Center, room 120. Musicians, dancers and performers will then take center stage in the Connector Building Commons throughout the day, blending cultures and various backgrounds.
Featured performers include Bernard Woma’s Saakuma Dance Troupe from Ghana, West Africa; Will Thoren, inventor of the Multidrone Didgeridoo, from Los Angeles; and Bedouin Star’s Ethnic Belly Dance.


Metropolitan Community College, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, is a comprehensive, public community college that offers affordable, quality education to all residents of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties. Founded in 1974, MCC has the largest enrollment out of six community colleges in Nebraska and is the second largest postsecondary institution in the state. MCC serves more than 40,000 unique credit and noncredit students.
