Student works of art go on display April 20 at MCC’s Gallery of Art and Design

OMAHA, Neb. — The 16th annual Student Art Exhibition will open Wednesday, April 20 at Metropolitan Community College’s Gallery of Art and Design at the College’s Elkhorn Valley Campus, 204th Street and West Dodge Road. The exhibition will begin with an opening reception at 5 p.m. and an awards ceremony at 6 p.m. The exhibit will run April 20 through May 21.
More than 65 art pieces were chosen by judges. MCC’s Gallery of Art and Design’s mission is to provide a creative and academic experience for students, faculty, staff and visiting public in an intimate campus setting, where all exhibits and events are free and open to the public.


Metropolitan Community College, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, is a comprehensive, public community college that offers affordable, quality education to all residents of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties. Founded in 1974, MCC has the largest enrollment out of six community colleges in Nebraska and is the second largest postsecondary institution in the state. MCC serves more than 40,000 unique credit and noncredit students.
