Media alert: MCC to host trades competition tomorrow 

What: Metropolitan Community College will host the Metro Omaha Trades Invitational, an event that will feature local high school and college students competing against one another in various competitions. The Metro Omaha Trades Invitational aims to promote the trades and other fields, introducing students to career opportunities that are in high demand. 

Where: The College will host the event at three separate locations.

South Omaha Campus in the Mahoney Building and Industrial Training Center, 2909 Edward Babe Gomez Ave.

Automotive Technology, CNC Milling and others

Fort Omaha Campus in bldgs. 22, 24, 25, 26 and 29, 5300 N. 30th St.

Carpentry, Digital Cinema Production, Floriculture, Photography, Welding and more

Applied Technology Center, 10407 State St.

Automotive Refinishing, Collision Repair, Collision Estimating and Diesel Technology

 

When: Friday, Jan. 31 from 8 a.m. to noon. Awards ceremony will be at 4 p.m. inside Building 24 on the Fort Omaha Campus. 

Background: First, second and third place for each competition will be recognized in both secondary and postsecondary levels.
