Media alert: Omaha Fire Department Special Operations to train with MCC in grain bin rescue exercise

What: Metropolitan Community College will host the Omaha Fire Department Special Operations team for a grain bin rescue training exercise.

When: Friday, July 26 at 8:30 a.m.

Where: Applied Technology Center, 10407 State St., Omaha, Nebraska

Background: Grain entrapment or grain elevator rescues have to be performed when a person becomes submerged in grain and cannot get out. Not uncommon in agricultural states such as Nebraska and Iowa, the rescues are extremely dangerous.
