How do I get on the email alias?
Email Sharyn at firstname.lastname@example.org and request and that your name be added to the alias.
How do I learn to use the techroom equipment?
You can request an individual techroom orientation by contacting Sharyn Leigh, email@example.com, 457-2870.
My textbook came with a CD and companion website, can I use it in the techroom?
It depends what is on the CD. If it is PowerPoint, all techrooms have the current version of PowerPoint and the files will open. If the CD has other programs we ask that you contact your Dean's office and follow the software evaluation process. This process addresses licensing and software compatibility issues with hardware and software loaded on the techroom computers. In a few situations the course software has crashed the techroom computer impacting that class and classes that followed in the same room. This process ensures that the College is licensing compliant and that the software is compatible.
Most publishers have rich student and faculty resources available on their websites. These can usually be used without restriction within your class. Be sure to check their website for clarification and specific guidelines.
How do I log into the computer?
If you are new to the College, your Dean's area will complete a Technology Activation Form to setup your MCC user login. This login is the same login that you will use for email and to login into the computers in the techrooms. If you need assistance in first using your new login you call the Help Desk at 457-2900.
