Adjunct Teacher Reimbursement Program

Opportunities to receive tuition reimbursement for graduate hour costs in (math, science, or social sciences) curricula areas will be available for selected secondary teachers through the Secondary Partnerships Teacher Reimbursement Program.MCC Adjunct

If you are interested, please submit a complete, electronic application by Wednesday, February 20, 2013, to the Secondary Partnerships Office. If selected, you will be notified by Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

What Does The Program Involve?

The program is for high school educators who are willing to complete at least 18 graduate hours within a master's degree in (math, science, or social sciences) specific curricular areas, which enable the individual to become MCC adjunct certified, eligible to teach dual enrollment courses in a high school. THE APPLICANT WILL NEED TO ARRANGE HIS/HER OWN CLASSES. Participants submit course completion and grade reports, as well as the tuition bill, to receive reimbursement.

Who Is Eligible?

Any high school teacher with a current Nebraska 7-12 (math, science, or social science) teaching endorsement is eligible to apply. The individual must complete the application and be selected through a competitive process for tuition reimbursement while earning graduate hours to become MCC adjunct.

When Would I Receive Tuition Reimbursement?

Tuition is reimbursed within thirty days after receiving the grade report of a completed course, which leads toward becoming MCC adjunct eligible.

How Will Tuition Reimbursement Recipients Be Selected?

MCC Adjunct

A committee, comprised of representatives from MCC academic areas and the Secondary Partnerships Office, may review all applications. High school instructors will be selected considering the quality of the application, the need for adjunct staff in a curricular area, and the willingness of the individual to teach a dual enrollment course in the high school for at least one school year. Effort will be made to ensure the participant pool reflects a range of school districts.

How Do I Apply?

All applications must be submitted by Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Selection notification will be made by Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

How Much Is The Tuition Reimbursement?

The tuition reimbursement is based on 75% of the graduate credit rate at UNO, currently $212.50 per credit hour. For example, six graduate hours at UNO would cost $1275. The rate of tuition reimbursement for the individual would be $956.25.
