What is 'Music? (MUSC)'

Music is a subject taught within the Humanities Department. The Humanities Department's mission is to engage students in the study of philosophy, music, humanities, speech, and theatre, and to help students recognize and practice imagination, reflection, creativity, and critical thinking.

Is it for You?

Music classes at Metropolitan Community College are a good introduction to the basics of music history, appreciation and technique. They are designed to be accessible to the student with little musical background, while the experienced musician will find them interesting refresher courses. There is no program in music offered at Metro, but these classes are a good springboard for students of the Humanities and all disciplines who are interested in widening their outlook with exposure to the world of music.
