Carol Russell - MCC Foundation Board Secretary
Carol Russell is a Professional Volunteer and former Cancer Study Manager. Russell earned a Bachelor degree in Zoology and Chemistry from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and a Masters in Pathology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is married to Rick Russell, President of Millard Lumber.
Russell’s passion and mission to help build a better Omaha community began over 30 years ago, and to date, she has been involved with over 70 community organizations and boards. Her current volunteer committments are with the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, Nebraska Community Foundation, Prevent Blindness Nebraska, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Assistance League, Community Alliance, and Goodwill Industries and Building Bright Futures. Other community volunteer experience include; Literacy Center, March of Dimes, Boys and Girls Clubs, Charles Drew Health Center, Uta Halee, VNA, Respect Childrens Square, and the FHAS. Her many accomplishments include raising $19.3 million with her husband Rick as 2001 United Way Campaign chairs and induction into the Benson High and Millard Education Foundation Hall of Fame. In 2005, she received the prestigious International Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Russell's interest in serving on the MCCF board began in 2008. She believes that MCC is an incredible asset for our community. Russell is specifically interested in MCC's positive marketing to support it's programs.
