IN EVERY LANGUAGE, TO EVERYONE
FROM EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD
We are the English as a Second Language (credit) program at Metropolitan Community College.
We offer classes to International and Residential students to support them in their quest to learn or improve their English.
Our Mission Statement
The overall mission of the department is to provide and ensure high-quality education and instruction in English-As-A Second Language to non-native speakers.
High-quality instruction in ESL is essential for those who wish to improve their proficiency in English for a variety of professional, academic and social purposes, in order to increase their understanding of life in the U.S.A. To this end, we are committed and dedicated to providing our learners with a first-class curriculum, as well as providing our faculty and staff with resources that will promote their professional growth, in addition to programs which enhance the diversity of the MCC community. We aim to provide students with the cultural knowledge and awareness, which they will need to function satisfactorily, professionally, academically, and socially in the U.S.A.
The current ESLX catalog course description are available online.
