The College wants every student to have a successful experience. To encourage satisfactory progress throughout contiguous terms of enrollment, the College academic progress policy establishes specific standards that must be met by all students enrolled in credit courses.
Through the Liberal Arts/Academic Transfer Program, you can complete an Associate of Arts degree, which is equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor's degree.
At the completion of each quarter the instructor submits the final grade for each student to the Office of Admissions and Records. Metro awards grades ranging from A to F. Some classes are offered on a pass/fail grading system.
Grade Point Average (GPA)
The GPA is the average of the grades earned by the student. An A has numerical value of 4, B equals 3, C equals 2, D equals 1 and an F equals 0. You must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 to graduate.
Auditing a Course
Students may repeat any course without taking examinations or receiving credit for the course may register on an audit basis with faculty approval.
Repeat a Course
Students may repeat any course in which they did not receive at least a C grade.
